Microblading is a manual technique of implanting pigment into the skin. Also known as microstroking, microblading is an advanced brow embroidery technique whereby a superfine row of needles is used to create thin, hair-like marks on the skin. Instead of a machine, we use a hand tool with very small needles for full artistic control that mimic the appearance of fine hairs to create an eyebrow. This is unlike permanent eyebrow tattoos which tend to look unnatural, microblading tends to look extremely natural, to the point where you can hardly even tell that it’s there. These ultra-fine, hair-like strokes are semi-permanent and can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years with regular touchups to extend its life or make any adjustments. Microblading is ideal for individuals who want to toss their eyebrow pencils and fully reconstruct define, cover gaps, or fill in over plucked brows.
Microblading can also be used for more extreme cases such as patients with hair loss, whether it be due to Alopecia, hormonal imbalance, or cancer treatments. This technique requires virtually no down time, so beautiful eyebrows are revealed immediately. The treatment begins with developing the desired shape, then using individual tattoo strokes or ‘feathers’ in the area to plot the shape and style requested. The color choice is patient specific and is mixed using a natural selection of semi-permanent micropigments to complement hair color and skin tone. Varying shades of hypoallergenic micropigments react differently with each skin type and fade accordingly, depending on skin regimen, sun exposure, environmental and after care precautions. Immediately post treatment, eyebrows will appear darker than expected, but will fade 50% during the healing process over the following 2 weeks. The 2nd application 6 weeks later includes a touch up to ensure micro-pigments are healing properly and responding well.
Microblading is available in select locations only. Our artists have been independently trained and are very experienced in this amazing craft.
